This is an on-going project featuring a complete update and revitalization of a classic, beautiful 20 year old home in the Lorne Park area.
The finished family room
Design Wisdom: We were looking to create an ambience of sophisticated comfort with European overtones. The windows were left unadorned to maximize exposure to the outdoors.

The opposing end of the finished family room
The effect of the distinctive coffered ceiling subdues the impact of the natural stone fireplace. The Entertainment Unit provides function and balances the visual weight of the fireplace.

Relocating the television to the opposite end of the room determined the maximum seating arrangement and offered a secondary area behind the sectional for morning coffee, newspaper reading, games table activities, computer functions etc.
The French Doors were removed to accommodate the TV and maximize seating for TV viewing

These images illustrate the dramatic transformation the fireplace underwent. Note the repetition of the curved pattern in the fireplace opening, the overmantle mirror and the framework of the upholstered accent chairs. The dazzling crystal chandelier reflects beautifully in the overmantle mirror.

"After" shot of the kitchen work area
We began by creating space through the removal of the Florida style lighting and taking full advantage of the 9 1/2' ceiling to accommodate the stunning new cabinetry.
Relocating the fridge and stove created a better symmetry within the overall space and enabled a more functional state-of-the-art stove. Note the placement of the faucet over the stove burners for time-saving convenience.
The centre island with its stunning and unique granite counter top adds contrast and visual interest. It features a wine fridge and refrigerated drawers for extra storage and accessibility.

This was an opportunity to create something very special and unequaled in its genre.
The project was a complete teardown and replacement of fixtures and lighting with the relocation of the toilet to optimize the space and enable the placement of a larger scale vanity.
The authentic, unparalleled venetian marble technique on the walls completes the jewel-like appeal of the Powder Room.
